Patrice Newell - Virgo extra virgin olive oil

Patrice Newell has been a biodynamic farmer for nearly 20 years in the Hunter Valley. Previously she was a television reporter and presenter with SBS News, TCN 9 The Today Show and the Seven Network.
Beef production was the first bio dynamic business she established, supplying butchers and restaurants in the Sydney region and establishing a home delivery operation, as well as exporting to Europe.
In 1997 she began to change the focus of the farm to include an olive grove to make olive oil. She wrote about the trials and tribulations of the experience in her best selling book The Olive Grove (Penguin 2000). So far the planting has reached 6000 trees and more are planned.
In 2003 she wrote The River, a book that helps us understand the issues all farmers face regarding water.
Today she divides her time between the management of the farm and writing.
