Since 1997 bringing the goodness of organic into your home & business.

Body Care and Fabrics

Body care product may empathise their certified organic ingredients but if the product is not fully certified there is no audit or prohibitions with regards the other ingredients. This can be very misleading. However not all ingredients are available as certified, so encouraging a processor to find ways that is free of chemicals step by step is important.  Reading the label is especially important or ask your retailer. In Europe and USA the organic food standards do not apply to  “organic” body care. Here in Australia many body care & household cleaning products that are fully certified are under a food grade certification.

There is a perfusion of ECO labels that appear to endorse many household products, none with the integrity and authenticity of organic certification audit system. (Organic certification systems have 20 years of experience & development behind them). Consumers seek, household paints, varnishes, fabrics, woods  products that seek to support the environment and are simply not toxic.

Some fibres are certified through to a finished garment. The chemicals added in the treating and dying of an article can be as harmful as those used for the spraying of crops. It is particularly difficult to find natural dyes and fixatives that can be certified so there are a number of “eco” dyes used & eco certification organisations.  Possible pathway of chemical exposure for newborn child is via their toys, blankets, not just what they suck on but also what they inhale. There are few of these goods that are actually certified organic, beware products that make make "organic" claims without certfication. Many of the so called "natural" certifications are home grown and simply a stamp the manufacuturer has designed to look good.
